Pennsylvania's 2023 Ice Cream Trail Unveiled: A Sweet Summer Adventure

Pennsylvania's 2023 Ice Cream Trail Unveiled: A Sweet Summer Adventure

Pennsylvania's much-anticipated ice cream adventure, the Sixth Annual Scooped: An Ice Cream Trail, is set to make waves this summer. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, alongside Deputy Secretary of Tourism, Film, and Marketing Carrie Fischer Lepore, officially announced the 2023 PA Ice Cream Trail during a visit to "The Lands at Hillside Farms" in Shavertown, Luzerne County.

Breaking its own record, this year's trail features 42 creameries, including iconic spots like Penn State University's Berkey Creamery in State College, Centre County, as well as Ritchey's Dairy and Stock's Dairy Delight in Martinsburg, Blair County, and Vale Wood Farms in Cambria County.

The Ice Cream Trail, a collaboration between the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Department of Community and Economic Development, was introduced in 2018 to support dairy farm families and promote tourism in the state. It provides a unique opportunity to explore Pennsylvania while indulging in delectable ice cream treats.

Excitingly, this year's trail introduces a digital passport system where visitors can earn a commemorative stainless-steel ice cream scooper by accumulating 600 points. Each trail stops rewards visitors with 100 points upon check-in, obtained by making a purchase and entering a four-digit code.

Secretary Redding expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Nothing is sweeter than a cold scoop of Pennsylvania ice cream on a hot summer day. It's even sweeter knowing you're supporting a Pennsylvania farm family and the thriving dairy industry."

To share their delightful experiences, trail participants are encouraged to document their journey at each stop using the hashtag #PursueYourScoops on VisitPA.com's social media platforms. Get ready to embark on a sweet, wholesome summer adventure along Pennsylvania's Ice Cream Trail, where delightful memories and delectable flavors await.
