Agricultural professionals, crop consultants, and farmers will have a valuable opportunity to enhance their crop management skills at the upcoming Agronomic Field Diagnostic Clinic on July 23, 2025.
This one-day, hands-on workshop will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Agronomy Research Farm at Rockspring, located at 1794 W Pinegrove Rd, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA.
Designed for industry personnel, extension agents, and producers, the clinic offers practical, research-based insights into effective crop and soil management.
Specialists from Penn State and other experts in agriculture will lead participants through interactive sessions focused on crop production, pest and nutrient management, and conservation practices.
Attendees will gain experience in diagnosing common agronomic challenges while exploring strategies that address the interacting effects of nutrients, pests, and environmental stress factors particularly relevant to Northeastern agriculture.
The event will include key topics such as tar spot management in corn, forage quality and variety selection, soil organic matter, and nitrogen recommendations based on cover crops.
Participants can also earn continuing education credits, including 5 Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) credits in the areas of crop management (CM), pest management (PM), nutrient management (NM), and soil and water (SW).
Additionally, pesticide applicators can earn credits in categories 01 (Agronomic Crops) and 18 (Demonstration and Research), along with NM Act 38 nutrient management credits.
Pre-registration is required due to limited space, with the registration deadline set for July 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
