The Jan Harding Ruslavage Memorial Service & Promotion Award is now accepting nominations for 2025. This award honors a young individual, aged 18 to 30, who has shown exceptional dedication to serving and promoting Pennsylvania’s dairy industry.
Established in 2024, the award commemorates Janet Harding Ruslavage’s legacy of leadership and commitment to dairy.
The selected recipient will receive a $3,000 cash prize and will be recognized at the Pennsylvania Dairy Princess State Pageant in September.
Nominations must be submitted by August 4, 2025, through the official website: www.centerfordairyexcellence.org/janet-harding-ruslavage-award.
To be eligible, nominees must:
- Reside in Pennsylvania
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Have graduated from high school
- Be pursuing a career related to the dairy industry
The award seeks to honor individuals with qualities such as servant leadership, integrity, a positive and helpful attitude, strong work ethic, compassion, and a deep passion for dairy.
The selection committee will look for those who actively contribute to the dairy industry in meaningful ways.
Examples of qualifying service include:
- Participating in dairy promotion efforts
- Holding leadership roles in dairy organizations
- Promoting dairy in local communities
- Advising youth in dairy-related programs
- Advancing dairy through research or education
Nominations may be submitted by the individual themselves or by someone wishing to recognize their contributions to the industry.
This award is intended to uplift and encourage young leaders who are making a lasting impact on the future of Pennsylvania’s dairy community.
