Farmers, conservation professionals, and nutrient applicators are invited to attend a hands-on Manure Management Field Day on July 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Double G Show Cattle, located at 64 Star View Lane, Newport, Pennsylvania.
This informative event is designed for individuals who apply manure, have nutrient management plans, or work in agricultural conservation.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into practical and effective manure management techniques that enhance nutrient use efficiency while protecting environmental resources.
Topics will cover a range of key areas including best practices for collecting, storing, and applying manure. Participants will also learn how to properly calibrate manure spreaders for optimal application rates, the importance of safe storage through proper tarping procedures, and guidelines for when and where to apply manure to minimize runoff and nutrient loss. Safety measures for operating spreaders will also be discussed.
Additionally, attendees will hear updates from local conservation district representatives and learn how state manure and nutrient management regulations apply on real-world farms.
Each field day includes site-specific demonstrations tailored to the host farm’s operation. Space is limited, and advance registration is required by July 23, 2025, at 11:45 p.m.
