USDA teams up with NFU to enhance FSA service

USDA teams up with NFU to enhance FSA service

By Jamie Martin

In a significant move to enhance the functionality of local Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices, the USDA has partnered with the National Farmers Union (NFU) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership focuses on assessing and improving the staffing levels and customer service provided to family farmers and ranchers across the country.

The collaboration aims to collect direct feedback from agricultural producers about their interactions with FSA personnel and the effectiveness of the programs delivered.

To facilitate this, the NFU plans to conduct listening sessions in various local communities, offering farmers a voice to express their needs and suggestions for improvements.

FSA Administrator Zach Ducheneaux expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, emphasizing the importance of both the agency’s employees and the agricultural producers they serve.

The insights gained from the MOU are intended to guide strategic investments to enhance the capacity and service quality of FSA's local offices.

This initiative reflects a broader effort to support rural communities and ensure that the services provided by the FSA are both effective and responsive to the needs of today’s farmers and ranchers.
