Enhance skills in riparian buffer management

By Blake Jackson

The Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) Buffers Certificate Course is returning this year, offering a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in riparian buffer management. Scheduled from July 15 to July 19, 2024, this 3-day course includes a virtual session on July 15 followed by in-person training days on July 18 and 19.

The course registration fee is typically $275; however, thanks to funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA-DCNR), Pennsylvania residents can attend for just $45. It's important to note that participants must attend all sessions to earn the certificate.

Riparian buffers play a critical role in agricultural conservation by reducing nutrient and sediment pollution. This course emphasizes the importance of proper design, installation, and maintenance of riparian forest buffers to ensure their long-term effectiveness.

Participants can expect a comprehensive curriculum covering planning, implementation, and management of riparian buffers. The course utilizes active learning methods, including classroom lectures, videos, reading materials, and hands-on activities to provide a well-rounded educational experience.

Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in riparian buffer management while contributing to the preservation of our natural resources. Register now to secure your spot on this impactful training course.
