Six Percent of Pennsylvania Oats in the Ground

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 2.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supplies were 5 percent short, 89 percent adequate, and 6 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 3 percent short, 86 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus.

Pennsylvania oats planted was 8 perent, compared to 5 percent last year and 6 percent for the 5-year average.

Barley rated 0 percent very poor, 1 percent poor, 3 percent fair, 90 percent good and 6 percent excellent.

Winter wheat rated 0 percent very poor, 1 percent poor, 6 percent fair, 80 percent good and 13 percent excellent.
