Nearly All Pennsylvania Barley Emerged

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 76 percent adequate and 24 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 78 percent adequate and 22 percent surplus.

Pennsylvania barley emerged was 95 percent.

Corn harvested for grain reached 86 percent, behind last year's 89 percent but ahead of the five-year average of 83 perent.

The state soybean harvest was 92 percent complete, behind the 2020 pace of 96 percent but ahead of the average of 88 percent.

Eighty-nine percent of the Pennsylvania winter wheat has been planted, with a reported 80 percent emerged.
