The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched several new programs to promote agricultural exports in Fiscal Year 2026. These initiatives are designed to bolster the presence of U.S. agricultural products on the global stage.
Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced the availability of funds for the Market Access Program (MAP), Foreign Market Development Program (FMD), Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops Program (TASC), and Emerging Markets Program (EMP). These programs are fundamental in supporting U.S. producers in their efforts to penetrate and expand in international markets.
"Our job at USDA is to open new markets for our farmers, ranchers, and producers," stated Secretary Rollins. This commitment comes in response to previous trade deficits and aims to enhance economic growth in rural America through strategic market engagement.
The application deadline for these programs is set for June 6, 2025, encouraging stakeholders from various sectors to participate. Each program offers significant financial support and resources to promote U.S. fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other commodities abroad.
Through partnerships with agricultural trade associations and small businesses, these programs not only aim to increase exports but also ensure a stronger economic return on investment.
The USDA's focused approach on market development and trade promotion reflects its long-term strategy to maintain and create new opportunities for U.S. agriculture globally.
