Pennsylvania's plant industries, a $52.7 billion economic force, are seeking dedicated individuals to join the Center for Plant Excellence Advisory Network.
These industries, spanning specialty crops to forestry, are vital to the state's agricultural and economic health.
The Center for Plant Excellence aims to advance these sectors through research, collaboration, and strategic resources, focusing on science-driven solutions, market opportunities, and sustainability.
The Center supports diverse sectors, including Christmas trees, floriculture, hardwoods, hemp, landscape crops, native plants, tree fruit, vegetables, vineyards, and enology.
The Advisory Network will consist of industry leaders, researchers, and stakeholders who will discuss industry threats and opportunities. Members will provide insights on trends and innovations, inform funding priorities, engage with peers, and ensure industry needs are represented.
Participation offers the chance to influence research initiatives and contribute to the industry's future. Growers, association representatives, researchers, educators, policymakers, and business leaders with a passion for plant industries are encouraged to apply.
Those interested in joining the Advisory Network are invited to contact Miranda Harple at mharple@psu.edu. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and drive innovation, ensuring the continued success of Pennsylvania's plant industries.
