New Herbicide Products for 2025 - Key Updates and Releases

New Herbicide Products for 2025 - Key Updates and Releases

By Blake Jackson

The latest annual overview of herbicide products shows no new modes of action but introduces several new active ingredients and premixes.

  • Beyond Xtra 1SL (BASF) will replace Beyond and Raptor, combining their labels. It is suitable for crops such as alfalfa, soybean, snap bean, and Clearfield sunflowers. Existing stocks of Beyond and Raptor will continue to be sold until depleted.
  • Enversa 3CS (Corteva) is a newly encapsulated acetochlor formulation (Group 15) for soybean and corn. Its controlled-release technology extends residual weed control. Applied at 3 pt/A, it can be used from pre-emergence up to post-R2 in soybean and up to 30” in corn. It is currently available on the market.
  • Intrava DX and Intrava MX (UPL) are experimental premixes containing amicarbazone combined with metribuzin (DX) or mesotrione (MX). These products target annual broadleaves and grass weeds, including Palmer and waterhemp, but are not yet registered.
  • Kyro 3.07CS (Corteva), a mix of acetochlor, topramezone, and clopyralid, provides foliar and residual control of annual weeds when applied post-emergence in corn up to 24” tall. It is currently marketed.
  • Liberty Ultra 1.76SL (BASF), an improved glufosinate formulation, enhances weed retention and allows for lower use rates. Approved by the EPA, it will be available in 2025.
  • NovaGraz (Corteva), formulated for grass pastures and hayfields, preserves white clover while controlling many broadleaf weeds. It has minimal grazing restrictions and will be available in 2025.
  • Rapidicil 0.46EC (Valent), a PPO inhibitor, is under regulatory review and may be released mid-decade.
  • Resicore REV 3.26CS (Corteva) updates the original Resicore formulation, incorporating encapsulated acetochlor for enhanced safety and application flexibility in corn.
  • Storen 3.2ZC (Syngenta) is a four-way premix for field corn, offering pre- and post-emergence application through V8.
  • Surtain 1.62ZC (BASF) provides residual control in field corn but requires a burndown herbicide.
  • Voraxor 3.13SC (BASF) is a burndown/pre-emergence herbicide with improved broadleaf control.
  • Zalo 2.57SL (AMVAC), a glufosinate and quizalofop premix, enhances post-emergence weed control in glufosinate-resistant soybean.
  • Rely 2.34SL (BASF) is being discontinued for specialty crops, and existing inventory can be used until sold out.
