Cumberland County is inviting public feedback on the 2025 Land Partnerships Plan, a countywide strategy focused on farmland preservation, natural resource protection, and the development of parks, trails, and greenways.
The Land Partnerships Plan serves as a roadmap to help the county strike a balance between conserving valuable resources and accommodating future growth. It identifies important agricultural, natural, and recreational assets and recommends actions to protect and improve these resources for the benefit of both current and future residents.
The updated plan aims to inspire community involvement and foster collaboration between various levels of government, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and landowners. By building strong partnerships, Cumberland County seeks to successfully carry out the plan’s strategies and long-term goals.
Originally adopted in 2006 and updated in 2013, the 2025 revision is supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Public input plays a vital role in shaping the plan’s effectiveness and ensuring it reflects community values and needs.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the plan online at cumberlandcountypa.gov/5098 and submit written comments by Friday, September 5, 2025. For questions or feedback, contact Stephanie Williams at 717-240-5383 or sjwilliams@cumberlandcountypa.gov.
