96 Percent of Pennsylvania Apples Good to Excellent

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 23 percent short, 76 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 8 percent short, 90 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus.

Pennsylvania apples were rated 3 percent poor, 1 percent fair, 95 percent good and 1 percent excellent.

The corn crop condition was reported at 2 percent poor, 7 percent fair, 76 percent good and 15 percent excellent.

Soybeans were 1 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 64 percent good and 16 percent excellent.

Pennsylvania winter wheat was rated 1 percent poor, 8 percent fair, 57 percent good and 34 percent excellent.

Pastures across the state were 1 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 64 percent good and 7 percent excellent.
