State Soybean Harvest Pace Lagging Average



According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 3.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 1 percent very short, 19 percent short, 80 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 17 percent short, and 80 percent adequate.

Fall tillage was 75 percent complete, on par with the 5-year average.

Pennsylvania barley emerged was 85 percent.

Of the 95 percent of winter wheat planted, 58 percent was reported emerged, far below lasst year's 80 percent.

Corn harvested for grain was 80 percent complete. on par with the 5-year average of 81 percent.

Soybeans harvested was 70 percent, far behind last year's 92 percent and the 5-year average of 87 percent.
