Snowflake, the first calf born in the Calving Corner, arrived amidst the season's first snowfall, earning her a fitting name. This sprightly newborn was already walking within an hour, joining three other playful arrivals: Marshmellow, Star, and Havoc.
Over the eight-day show, 16 calves are expected to grace the Calving Corner, offering visitors a close-up glimpse into the miracle of life on the farm. Witnessing these wobbly-legged wonders stand within minutes of birth is a highlight for many, sparking curiosity about farm life and the journey of milk from field to fridge.
"We're thrilled to share the wonders of dairy farming with the next generation," says Dave Smith, PA Dairymen's Association Executive Director. "From answering questions about our animals to showcasing our world-class industry, it's all about connecting with families and fostering a love for agriculture."
So, if you're at the Pa Farm Show, be sure to stop by the Calving Corner - you might just witness the magic of a brand-new life, sprinkled with a touch of wintery charm.
