Penn State Extension is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to offer a Meaningful Watershed Education Workshop (MWEE) at Greenwood Furnace State Park in Huntington, PA, on February 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This winter-themed workshop is designed for educators looking to integrate hands-on water science and environmental stewardship activities into their teaching.
Participants will engage in a variety of interactive field activities, including a winter salt watch and a macroinvertebrate leaf pack study.
These activities will provide educators with valuable resources to teach students about water quality, environmental protection, and the significance of safeguarding local watersheds.
Attendees will receive a MWEE Educational Guide, along with supplemental materials to support their classroom instruction. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided throughout the day to keep everyone energized and focused.
Registration for the workshop is required by February 7, so educators are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
This workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain practical tools and knowledge for teaching students about the importance of clean water and environmental care.
