According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.
Topsoil moisture supplies were 1 percent very short, 24 percent short, and 75 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 13 percent short, and 84 percent adequate.
Fall tillage across Pennsylvania averaged 70 percent complete.
Corn harvested for grain was 64 percent complete, behind the 5-year average of 73 percent. Soybean harvest was at 65 percent, also behind the 5-year average of 82 percent complete.
Barley planted was nearing completion at 95 percent, and emergence was at 60 percent, far behind last year's 91 percent.
Winter wheat planted was 85 percent, behind the average 91 percent complete. Emerged was 44 percent, far behind last year's 77 percent.
