Pennsylvania Corn Harvest Inches Towards Completion



According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 10 percent short, 85 percent adequate, and 5 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 12 percent short, and 85 percent adequate.

Fall tillage was 85 percent complete.

Barley planted was 85 percent complete and emerged was reported at 95 percent.

Corn harvested for grain was at 90 percent complete, slightly behind last year's 92 percent but ahead of the 5-year average of 87 percent.

The Pennsylvania soybean harvest was 85 percent complete.

Winter wheat emerged was 73 percent.
