On January 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Penn State Extension Berks County will host an in-person workshop aimed at helping Pennsylvania dairy producers develop effective biosecurity plans.
This free event will take place at 1238 County Welfare Rd, Suite #110, Leesport, PA 19533. Participants can expect to spend approximately 1 to 1.5 hours at the event.
The workshop is designed to assist dairy farmers in creating biosecurity plans that align with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s guidelines, with a special focus on protecting herds from Bovine Influenza A outbreaks.
This open-house-style event offers an excellent opportunity to work directly with a Penn State Extension Dairy Educator.
Attendees will receive guidance on the essential components of a biosecurity plan, including state requirements in the event of a quarantine due to an outbreak.
By attending, dairy producers will learn how to implement everyday biosecurity practices and prepare for potential illness outbreaks, ensuring the health of their herds and the long-term sustainability of their farms.
This practical event is aimed at helping farmers safeguard the well-being of their animals and protect their businesses from the risks associated with disease outbreaks.
While registration is encouraged, the event is offered at no charge to participants. Dairy producers interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance to ensure a smooth and organized experience. Don’t miss the chance to take proactive steps toward securing the health and productivity of your dairy herd.
