The CARAT Project, led by Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, will provide funding to 69 dairy farms to implement climate-smart practices. The project aims to enhance sustainability and profitability for PA dairy producers.
To apply, farms must first pre-qualify. If pre-qualified, a technical service provider will help develop a climate-smart plan. The plan will be presented to the CARAT Review Committee for consideration.
Approximately 150 farms are expected to pre-qualify, but only 69 will receive funding. Pre-qualified farms that do not receive funding will still benefit from no-cost technical service to develop climate-smart plans.
Applications are now open. Information on how to apply online or via mail.
