Pennsylvania grape and wine industry stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Innovation Grant Program, a competitive funding opportunity aimed at supporting the adoption of advanced technologies that boost profitability and promote sustainable practices.
This initiative is particularly valuable for vineyards and wineries facing challenges such as rising input costs, labor shortages, and growing demands for environmentally responsible operations.
Eligible projects can vary in scope but generally address industry priorities. Examples include precision viticulture tools that enhance labor efficiency, reduce inputs, and improve decision-making across vineyard and winery operations.
Grants may also support renewable energy projects that integrate into farm systems, helping to manage byproducts, reduce nutrient losses, and increase overall energy efficiency.
The program is designed to accommodate a range of project sizes, from small on-farm pilots to larger collaborative efforts with regional impact, making it accessible to vineyards and wineries of different scales interested in innovation and long-term sustainability.
