The Pennsylvania Veteran Farming Network (PAVFN) is a non-profit organization that provides resources and support to veteran farmers in Pennsylvania. The Network is comprised of veterans, military, and their spouses who are either interested in or are already participating in Pennsylvania agriculture.
PAVFN offers a variety of services to its members, including:
- Connections with peers: PAVFN hosts regular events and workshops where veteran farmers can network with each other and share knowledge and expertise.
- Educational and on-farm workshops: PAVFN offers a variety of workshops on topics such as farming basics, business management, and marketing.
- Assistance with local, state, and federal agencies: PAVFN can help veteran farmers navigate the complex bureaucracy of government agencies and programs.
PAVFN is committed to helping veteran farmers succeed. The Network believes that veteran farmers have the skills and dedication necessary to be successful, and PAVFN is there to provide them with the support they need.
How to Support Veteran Farmers
One of the best ways to support veteran farmers is to buy their products. PAVFN has an interactive map that shows the locations of member farms across Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. You can use the map to find veteran farms near you and learn about their products.
Another way to support veteran farmers is to attend the PA Veteran Farming Conference. The conference is an opportunity to network with veteran farmers and learn about the latest agricultural practices. The conference will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, in New Cumberland, PA.
