Pennsylvania dairy excellence and Marketing grants open

The Center for Dairy Excellence has opened two competitive grant programs for Pennsylvania dairy producers and dairy value-added operations.

Dairy Excellence Grants: These grants are available to Pennsylvania dairy producers who want to improve cow comfort, milk production per cow, or overall efficiency on their dairy farm. Grants can cover up to 50% of the cost of eligible projects, up to a maximum of $5,000. Eligible projects include fans, sprinklers, misters, curtains, ventilation improvements, mattresses, construction to move to deep bedded sand stalls, variable speed pulsation, cow brush or foot bath installation, and enhanced feed systems.

Marketing, Branding and Labeling Consultant Grants: These grants are available to dairy value-added businesses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey that want to build their brand, develop effective labels, create marketing plans, and identify appropriate strategies to increase product sales and consumer access. Grants cover the cost of working with a consultant, up to a maximum of $5,000.

Both grant programs have limited windows to apply. Applications for Dairy Excellence Grants will be accepted through October 16, and applications for Marketing, Branding and Labeling Consultant Grants will be accepted through October 31.

To apply for either grant program, visit the Center for Dairy Excellence website. A $100 application fee is required upon submission but will be reimbursed if the application is not accepted.
