Eight rural Pennsylvania farms and businesses are set to benefit from a total of $560,158 in funding announced by U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA). This funding, facilitated through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), will enable the recipients to invest in solar photovoltaic systems.
These systems will harness solar energy to generate electricity, offering substantial savings and enhancing sustainability. Grants ranging from $14,851 to $141,350 will support the purchase and installation of solar infrastructure. Senator Casey emphasized the significance of such investments in reducing operational costs for businesses, thereby bolstering their long-term viability.
The projects not only promise economic benefits but also contribute to environmental preservation by curbing emissions. The funding, established under the Inflation Reduction Act championed by Senator Casey, reflects a commitment to fostering rural prosperity and sustainability. Recipients encompass a diverse range of enterprises, including farming, construction, trucking, and hospitality. See the list of project recipients of Inflation Reduction Act funding.
