Dairy Producers - Learn Strategies to Manage Beef Risk

The Center for Dairy Excellence is inviting dairy producers and industry professionals to participate in a free webinar, “Beyond Milk Checks: Managing Beef Income Streams,” on September 18, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

The session will feature cattle market specialists Kathleen Noble Wolfley and Owen TeVelde from Ever.Ag, who will discuss current developments in the cattle industry and strategies for managing risk related to cull cows and calves.

“From the Mexican border opening to feeder cattle imports to the JBS plant closing in Pennsylvania, there are a lot of recent cattle market updates that affect dairy producers,” said Valerie Mason-Faith, Risk Education Manager at the Center for Dairy Excellence.

“We hope you’ll join us for this September webinar to learn what packer health, retail beef demand, drought, and other cattle market dynamics mean for the dairy industry – and strategies you can implement to manage your risk on cull cows and calves.”

Attendees will receive insights on the reopening of the Mexican border to feeder cattle imports, packer profitability challenges, retail beef demand trends, food service activity, and drought conditions in the western United States that may slow herd rebuilding efforts.

Speakers will also explain how these market factors affect dairy operations and discuss risk management approaches available to producers.
