An upcoming webinar series on building forest carbon and market decision-making capacity will bring together experts from academia, the forest industry, and other forestry professionals. The series aims to promote the adoption of climate-smart technologies and practices in forest systems by sharing knowledge and insights.
On December 12, the Michigan State University (MSU) Forest Carbon and Climate Program will cohost a session alongside the USDA Forest Service, Pennsylvania State University, MSU Extension, Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and Wisconsin DNR.
This session will feature MSU Assistant Professor of Forest Economics, Dr. Raju Pokharel, who will deliver a presentation titled “Cost-Benefit of Voluntary Carbon Projects: Demonstrating an Online Tool for Landowner Decision-Support.” The presentation will focus on evaluating the costs and benefits of voluntary carbon projects and introducing an online decision-support tool designed to assist landowners.
According to MSU, the webinar series seeks to enhance understanding of forest carbon payment programs among landowners, policymakers, consulting foresters, and natural resource professionals. By fostering collaboration and offering valuable insights, the series aims to support more informed decision-making and encourage sustainable forest management practices.
The webinar is free, and interested participants can register online. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with experts and expand your knowledge of forest carbon strategies.
