Pennsylvania dairy producers will have an opportunity to connect with fellow farmers this July through a series of Dairy Discussion Groups organized by the Center for Dairy Excellence and Penn State Extension.
These informal gatherings are designed to encourage networking, idea sharing, and conversations about improving farm productivity and profitability.
Each session will take place on a working dairy farm and will include a farm tour, facilitated discussion, and complimentary lunch.
Organizers hope the relaxed format will create a welcoming environment where producers can learn from one another and discuss challenges and opportunities facing the dairy industry.
“Discussion groups can be a great outlet for exchanging ideas with your peers—especially those in your local community—about productivity and profitability at the farm level," said, Jayne Sebright, Executive Director at the Center for Dairy Excellence.
"We’ll have a facilitated discussion tailored to meet your needs at each meeting to help create a positive forum for sharing ideas and learning from one another,” she added.
The discussion groups will be held in three regions across the state. The Franklin/Perry group meets July 23, 2026, in New Bloomfield, the Blair/Somerset group gathers July 28, 2026, in Martinsburg, and the Chester/Berks group will meet July 29, 2026, in Cochranville. All events run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
