Keystone Crops Get Warmer Temps, Timely Rain
Pennsylvania Ag Connection - 07/10/2018

Pennsylvania had a good week for field activities with an average of 5.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 93F, a low of 52F and a state average temperature of 75F. Hot weather good for hay. Finished with barley and started winter wheat. Corn is really growing, numerous fields now in silk.

Timely rains and warmer weather have encouraged good growth. Fruit crops continue to look ok. Cherries are being harvested but with current weather and temperatures conditions, quality will be affected. Growers are faced with wet weather and cloudiness and have to spray accordingly to protect against diseases etc.
