Greene Co. Belgian Mare Tops International Draft Horse Halter Show

Orndorff's Captain Memory, a Belgian mare exhibited by Corbly Orndorff of Waynesburg, Greene, Co., was awarded Supreme Champion Draft Horse at the 2019 Keystone International Livestock Exposition.

Memory won the title of Grand Champion Belgian Mare before being awarded Best Belgian and besting a field of champions for the title of Supreme Draft Horse. Other breeds represented in the show included Percherons, Shires, and Clydesdales.

Best Clydesdale was awarded to Granville's Black-Hearted Gypsy, exhibited by Jennifer Cleary, of Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co.

Best Shire was awarded to Northeast Intrepid, shown by Sandra Rutter, of Bloomfield, Ontario, Canada.

Best Percheron was awarded to Yo-Durs Lynn, of Jackson Fork Ranch, of Little Jackson, Wyoming.

The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, with more than 1,300 beef cattle, 650 horses, 1,200 sheep, 450 swine, and 200 Boer goats. This year, nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 29 states and Canada are competing in livestock events. The show also includes the 12th Annual Keystone Classic Barbecue Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event to select the state's finest culinary competitors.
