According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.
Topsoil moisture supplies were 19 percent very short, 37 percent short, and 44 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 9 percent very short, 35 percent short, 56 percent adequate.
The apple crop condition was reported as 3 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 10 percent fair, 75 percent good and 8 percent excellent. Peaches were rated 3 percent poor, 12 percent fair and 85 percent good.
Pennsylvania corn was reported at 10 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 41 percent good and 23 percent excellent. The soybean crop was 7 percent poor, 30 percent fair, 58 percent good and 5 percent excellent. For winter wheat, conditions were reported as 16 percent fair, 60 percent good and 24 percent excellent.
Pasture conditions were 1 percent very poor, 20 percent poor, 30 percent fair and 49 percent good.
