Penn State Hosts Ag Sciences Visit for High School Students

By Blake Jackson

Prospective high school students interested in plants, sustainability, and the green industry are invited to attend a Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences Interest Area Visit on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The event will take place at the Agricultural Administration Building on Curtin Road at Penn State’s University Park campus.

This interactive visit is designed to help students explore academic pathways that connect their interests to real-world careers. Participants will have the opportunity to tour Ag Hill, meet faculty members and current students, and learn how Penn State majors prepare graduates for careers in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and landscape design.

Students can explore a range of majors, including Agricultural and Bio renewable Systems Management, Agricultural Science, Biological Engineering, Environmental Resource Management, Forest Ecosystem Management, Landscape Contracting, Plant Sciences, and Turfgrass Science. These programs support careers focused on food production, ecosystem restoration, urban greening, and environmental protection.

The afternoon begins with an optional Ag Hill walking tour from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., followed by a college overview from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Attendees will then take part in two focused conversations, selecting majors or student resource offices from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

The visit is expected to last about three hours and offers a valuable opportunity for students to envision their future at Penn State. Registration is required, and interested students are encouraged to reserve a spot in advance.
