Milkshake mania - PA farm show gulps down 18,000 gallons

Milkshake mania - PA farm show gulps down 18,000 gallons

By Blake Jackson

The 2024 Pennsylvania Farm Show may be over, but the echoes of clinking mugs and sizzling fries linger. While official attendance numbers haven't landed, one thing is clear: those who came, ate! Food court vendors tallied their bounty, revealing some sweet and savory highlights:

  • Milkshake Mania: A whopping 18,000 gallons of milkshakes were slurped up, proving Pennsylvanians have an insatiable thirst for dairy delight.
  • Mushroom Mountain: 7,400 pounds of mushrooms went missing, satisfying cravings for earthy, umami goodness.
  • Fry Frenzy: 1,800 pounds of fries vanished from plates, confirming their universal appeal as the ultimate comfort food.
  • Apple Appetites: 175 bushels of apples disappeared, proving that crunchy, wholesome goodness never goes out of style.

These numbers follow a record-breaking 2023 Farm Show, which saw similar milkshake mania (18,000+ gallons!) and even hungrier appetites for mushrooms (9,000 pounds) and baked potatoes (12,000 pounds).

It's clear that the Farm Show isn't just about showcasing agriculture; it's a culinary carnival where everyone wins. Whether you're a milkshake purist, a mushroom devotee, or just a general fry-enthusiast, the Farm Show has something to tempt your taste buds.
