The Penn State Extension Forestry and Wildlife Team, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry and Pasa Sustainable Agriculture, is proud to announce the first-ever Mid-Atlantic Agroforestry Conference.
The event will focus on Forest Farming and Multifunctional Buffers, offering valuable insights for agroforesters, forest landowners, beginning farmers, and conservation professionals.
Scheduled for June 4-5, 2026, the conference will take place at the Special Events Building on the Ag Progress Days site in Pennsylvania Furnace, PA. This two-day, in-person gathering will feature a mix of presentations, panels, workshops, tours, and networking opportunities.
Attendees will gain knowledge on agroforestry practices, market strategies, and real-world experiences shared by industry practitioners.
Participants can explore field tours showcasing forest farming techniques and multifunctional buffer systems. Workshops will cover value-added products, farm planning, and strategies for scaling operations.
The conference will also include panel discussions with experts and producers addressing both the challenges and successes of agroforestry in the Mid-Atlantic region.
In addition, attendees will receive information on available funding and grants, including updates on federal and state programs designed to support agroforestry and sustainable farming practices.
As space is limited, pre-registration is required. Interested individuals are encouraged to subscribe to the Woods and Wildlife Newsletter for updates on registration and conference details.
This event provides a unique opportunity to connect with peers, expand agroforestry knowledge, and learn practical strategies to enhance the sustainability, accessibility, and productivity of farms and forest lands across the region.
