Jennie Diehl Mazzone has joined Penn State Extension to provide support and educational programming in commercial horticulture, focusing primarily on vegetables, small fruits, and the green industry.
Originally from southcentral Pennsylvania, Jennie is excited to return home and serve the local agriculture community by sharing the research-based knowledge and services that Penn State Extension is known for.
Jennie brings extensive experience within Penn State, having held multiple positions over the years. Jennie has served as a Forestry Instructor at Penn State Mont Alto, Master Gardener Coordinator in Franklin County, Research Technologist in Vegetable Pathology, and Diagnostician at the Plant Disease Clinic.
Jennie expertise also extends beyond the university; Jennie previously worked as a Plant Disease and Insect Diagnostician at the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Educationally, Jennie is well-prepared to support the horticulture community. Jennie holds a master’s degree in Plant Pathology and a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, both from Penn State University.
Jennie diverse background allows her to provide valuable guidance, technical support, and practical solutions to growers and horticulture professionals.
