According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.
Topsoil moisture supplies were 4 percent very short, 21 percent short, 75 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 7 percent very short, 26 percent short, and 67 percent adequate.
Fall tillage hit the halfway mark, about par with last year's 48 percent complete yet behind the 5-year average of 55 percent.
Corn mature was reported at 90 percent, behind 94 percent average. Corn harvested for grain was 20 percent complete, well behind last year's 35 percent and the 5-year average of 42 percent complete.
Pennsylvania soybeans dropping leaves was 90 percent. The soybean harvest was reported at 20 percent, well behind last year's 40 percent and the 5-year average of 52 percent complete.
Winter wheat planted was 45 percent complete, far behind last year's 65 percent complete and the 5-year average of 72 percent.
