The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the US, with nearly 6,000 animals and over 10,000 exhibits. The free event showcases Pennsylvania's $132.5 billion agricultural industry and the half-million people who work in it.
"Visiting the PA Farm Show is like taking a journey through the heart of agriculture," says Sharon Myers, executive director of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center. "You'll connect with the roots of our food, the spirit of our farming communities, and the boundless possibilities for finding your path in this industry."
One highlight is the Edible Nut Room, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association (PNGA). It's said to have one of the largest nut displays in the US.
"Northern nuts include Black walnuts, Persian (English) walnuts, Butternuts, Heartnuts, Juglans/Walnut Hybrids, Shagbark and Shellbark Hickories, Pecans, Hicans/Hickory Hybrids, Filberts (Hazelnuts), Chestnuts, Almonds, and Chinquapins," says PNGA President Frank Bodenberg. "Nuts are good for you! And they taste good, too! Nuts give us a variety of important vitamins and minerals that our bodies need daily. Nuts are good for a snack, are nutritious, and help make you feel fuller for much longer."
The Pennsylvania Farm Show is a great place to learn about agriculture, sample delicious food, and connect with family and friends. It's also a great way to celebrate the commonwealth's rich agricultural heritage.
