88 Percent of Pennsylvania Wheat Good to Excellent



According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 5.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 1 percent very short, 29 percent short, and 70 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 3 percent very short, 16 percent short, and 81 percent adequate.

Pennsylvania's fall tillage is 60 percent complete, behind both last year's and the 5-year's averages of 66 percent.

Winter wheat was rated 12 percent fair, 82 percent good and 6 percent excellent.

Pasture conditions were reported at 5 percent poor, 29 percent fair, 59 percent good and 7 percent excellent.
