Pennsylvania Corn, Soybean Harvest Nearly Complete

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 4.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 12 percent very short, 7 percent short, and 81 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 7 percent very short, 27 percent short, and 66 percent adequate.

Corn harvested for grain was 91 percent complete, well ahead of 2019 at 78 percent and the 5-year average of 84 percent.

The soybean harvest was essentially complete at 96 percent, ahead of last year's 89 percent and the 5-year average of 88 percent.

Fall tillage was 80 percent complete.

Pennsylvania pastures and ranges were reported at 11 percent very poor, 19 perent poor, 31 percent fair, 39 percent good and 0 percent excellent.
