Penn State Webinar on 2026 Health Insurance Changes

Penn State Webinar on 2026 Health Insurance Changes

By Blake Jackson

Penn State Extension is inviting rural residents, agricultural community members, Medicare recipients, and health and social service professionals to join an upcoming webinar focused on upcoming health insurance changes set for 2026.

Titled “Health Insurance Coverage Updates: A Panel Discussion,” the virtual session will be held on December 4 from noon to 1 p.m. and will address how federal updates are expected to affect health insurance coverage and affordability across Pennsylvania particularly in rural areas.

The discussion will feature representatives from PENNIE (the state’s health care exchange), PA MEDI (Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight), R&B Insurance (a Pennsylvania Farm Bureau partner), and Penn State Extension. Panelists will guide attendees through new regulations and help them prepare for the upcoming enrollment period.

Topics will include potential changes to premiums, eligibility requirements, and reporting procedures, as well as steps enrollees must take during open enrollment to prevent coverage disruptions or penalties.

The panel will also explore how these updates could uniquely affect those in rural and agricultural communities and where participants can access reliable resources and expert guidance.

The event is free of charge, but pre-registration is required by noon on December 4. Interested participants can learn more and register through the Penn State Extension website.
