NPPC Highlights Pork at WPX Event

By Jamie Martin

The National Pork Producers Council is enhancing engagement at the World Pork Expo by hosting NPPC Connect sessions designed for media professionals. A new highlight this year includes pork tasting experiences offered during the sessions to thank participants and build stronger industry connections.

The event also features a detailed Policy Panel that focuses on how policy decisions are made within the pork sector. Industry leaders will explain how legislative and regulatory issues are handled and how advocacy efforts support producers. These discussions aim to provide clarity on challenges and solutions affecting pork production across the country.

The Policy Panel named Policy Pulse How Pork Wins in DC and Beyond is scheduled for Wednesday June 3 from 830 to 930 am Central Time at the Walnut Center. It will be led by moderator Sarah Muirhead and feature speakers such as Rob Brenneman Bryan Humphreys Maria C Zieba and Pat McGonegle who bring expertise from national and state level organizations.

In addition to the panel, the We Speak Up Connect Sessions will allow registered media to conduct one on one interviews with experts. These sessions focus on key topics including economics, animal health, international trade dietary guidelines, and environmental regulations.

The first Connect Session will be held on June 3 from 945 to 1115 am Central Time. Speakers include Rob Brenneman Pat Hord Maria Zieba Dr Anna Forseth Holly Cook and Kyle Garner. The second session will follow on June 4 at the same time as Duane Stateler Todd Marotz Bryan Humphreys and Dr Ashley Johnson.

Both sessions will take place at the FFA Building Media Center, providing a central location for industry discussions. These sessions will help media gain valuable insights into policy trends and the future direction of the pork industry.
