Major Investment Secured for Lancaster Food Manufacturing

Major Investment Secured for Lancaster Food Manufacturing

By Blake Jackson

Governor Josh Shapiro announced a $4 million investment to support Kettle Fire’s first company-owned manufacturing facility in Lancaster County.

This project involves over $19 million in total investment and will create 149 new jobs, strengthening Pennsylvania’s growing food manufacturing sector.

The new Kettle Works facility spans 167,000 square feet and is equipped with advanced food production systems to support the company’s expanding product range.

Kettle Fire, founded in 2014, leads the bone broth market with products available in more than 22,000 stores nationwide.

“When a fast-growing company like Kettle & Fire chooses to build its first manufacturing facility right here in Pennsylvania, it shows that our Commonwealth has what it takes to compete and win in today’s economy,” said Governor Shapiro.

“My Administration will continue to secure major investments in our economy, create jobs, and open up the doors of opportunity for more Pennsylvanians.”

The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority provided a $4 million loan, and the WEDnetPA program contributed a $40,000 grant for workforce training.

Manufacturing and agriculture are key to the state’s economy, contributing over $116 billion and $132.5 billion annually, respectively.

Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding emphasized the connection between food manufacturers and farms: “When food manufacturers like Kettle & Fire grow, the farms that supply them grow along with them.”

The Lancaster Economic Development Corporation highlighted the region’s benefits, including access to consumer markets and quality ingredients that support companies like Kettle Fire.

Governor Shapiro’s 2025-26 budget includes $12.5 million to expand workforce training, $50 million for innovation and life sciences, and tax cuts to encourage business growth.

Since taking office, the administration has secured over $5.2 billion in private investments and created 9,500 jobs. The Kettle Fire project marks another success in advancing Pennsylvania’s economy and job market.
