Agricultural conservation professionals can enhance their skills and knowledge at the “ACAP Ag Conservation Con,” held April 1-3 at the Best Western Premier in Harrisburg.
The second annual conference, organized by the Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training and the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission, anticipates over 200 attendees.
The event aims to boost the capacity of the agricultural conservation workforce, offering professional development opportunities for current and future professionals.
It is designed for conservation district employees, agricultural conservation professionals, and those involved with the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP) or other conservation financial assistance programs.
Participants will gain valuable insights into ACAP and other conservation programs, refresh engineering skills, and learn about various conservation practices.
They will explore topics like manure storages, horse farm management, and effective marketing strategies for conservation programs. The conference will also focus on improving professional skills for addressing resource concerns and working effectively with farmers.
While highlighting ACAP, the conference is open to all conservation professionals, partners, and students committed to advancing agricultural conservation. Organizers emphasize that agricultural conservation success in Pennsylvania is a collaborative effort.
Various sponsorship opportunities are available, including conference registrations, program recognition, and exhibit tables. Interested sponsors can register on the Penn State Extension website.
A discounted early registration fee of $55 is available until March 7. After this date, the fee will be $65. Students can register for $40, banquet-only tickets are $55, and speaker registrations are $55. Attendees must register by March 23.
