Pennsylvania Peach Trees are Blooming
Pennsylvania Ag Connection - 04/18/2017
Pennsylvania had another good week for field activities with an average of 5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 87F, a low of 22F and a state average temperature of 69F. The warm and nice weather finally dried the soils
enough to do some field work.
Winter crops continue to grow and fruit trees appear to be progressing rapidly, peaches were blooming, while some early varieties of apples were starting to bloom in some areas.
Fair weather provided excellent opportunities for field work, oats seeding, manure spreading, burning down cover crops spraying winter cover crops and preparing equipment.
