Penn State's Ag Progress Days is a one-stop shop for farmers and anyone in agriculture to explore the latest equipment, technology, and services.
Held August 13-15 at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center, the event boasts over 400 exhibitors showcasing everything from tractors and milking systems to seeds, fertilizers, and financial products.
Visitors can witness field demonstrations of hay mowers, corn planters, and balers in action. New this year are corn planter demos. Daily highlights include hay mowing, cover crop planting, corn planting, and hay baling demonstrations.
Attendees can also take free research tours to see how Penn State researches various agricultural practices.
Tour topics include equine pastures, forest management, and stream buffers. Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the latest research findings, best practices, and regulations.
Information will cover dairy, livestock, crops, animal health, soil conservation, water quality, and even renewable energy.
Sponsored by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences, Ag Progress Days offers free admission and parking.
The event takes place at the research center, 9 miles southwest of State College on Route 45. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm on August 13, 9 am to 7 pm on August 14, and 9 am to 4 pm on August 15. For more information, visit the Ag Progress Days website.
