Precision Spraying System Now for Cotton Farmers

By Jamie Martin

Greeneye Technology has announced that its innovative Precision Spraying System, previously successful in corn and soybean farming, is now available for cotton farmers. This system, which reduces herbicide use by 87%, underwent extensive testing to meet the unique demands of cotton crops.

Cotton farming presents challenges like wide row spacing, long growing seasons, and increasing herbicide resistance. Greeneye's AI-enabled technology offers precise herbicide application, reducing costs and environmental impact while improving weed control effectiveness.

Texas farmer Dudley Pohnert, managing 8,000 acres of cotton, explained -
“Upgrading our existing John Deere sprayer with the Greeneye system will give us the flexibility to spray more frequently, including at night or in dusty conditions—critical for working around the storms we often face in June. Despite spraying more often, we expect to reduce our annual herbicide use by 25-40%, with our investment paying off within two to three seasons.”

The retrofit solution integrates seamlessly with any sprayer model, allowing farmers to avoid costly equipment purchases. Its dual-line configuration supports simultaneous broadcast and precision spraying, maximizing efficiency and adhering to agronomic best practices.

Last year’s field trials helped train Greeneye’s AI to differentiate cotton plants from weeds at various growth stages and under diverse conditions, ensuring precise application even at travel speeds up to 15 mph.

Greeneye Technology CEO Nadav Bocher commented, “With today’s announcement, we are excited to extend the game-changing benefits of Greeneye precision spraying to U.S. cotton farmers, offering sustainable and cost-effective solutions.”

By addressing herbicide resistance and increasing operational efficiency, Greeneye Technology’s Precision Spraying System is transforming weed control for cotton farmers across the U.S.
