According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.
Topsoil moisture supplies were 10 percent short, 87 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 94 percent adequate and 6 percent surplus.
Pennsylvania crop conditions showed little very poor conditions.
Apples were 6 percent poor, 1 percent fair, 92 percent good and 1 percent excellent.
Barley was 2 percent fair 82 percent good and 16 percent excellent. Oats were 19 percent fair and 81 percent good.
The corn crop was 7 percent fair, 75 percent good and 18 percent excellent, while the soybean crop was 10 percent fair, 71 percent good and 19 percent excellent.
Pennsylvania winter wheat was rated 3 percent fair, 67 percent good and 30 percent excellent.
Pastures and ranges rated 7 percent poor, 22 percent fair, 64 percent good and 7 percent excellent.
