Dairy producers and industry professionals will have an opportunity to gain practical insights into transition cow management at the upcoming FeedCENTS Dairy Nutrition Series, hosted by Penn State Extension.
The event is scheduled for September 25, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at MW Smith Farms, 851 Meadow Grove Road, Newport, Pennsylvania.
This educational program will focus on strategies to improve comfort, health, and efficiency in transition cow herds. Attendees will hear directly from Penn State professors and researchers who will share the latest findings on reducing inflammation during the dry period.
In addition, an agricultural engineer will provide guidance on facility design and management practices that support cow comfort and overall productivity.
The day will also highlight best practices for transition cow nutrition and management, offering practical takeaways that participants can apply on their own farms.
A hands-on demonstration on calving assistance will conclude the event, equipping producers with valuable techniques to support successful calving and healthier herds.
The program is tailored for dairy producers, herd managers, farm employees, nutritionists, and agricultural professionals. Registration closes on September 23, 2025, at 11:45 p.m., and early registration is encouraged.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available, giving businesses a chance to connect with dairy producers and demonstrate their support for advancing the industry. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to secure their spot soon.
