Dairy farm cash flow for value-added processing

Dairy farm cash flow for value-added processing

By Blake Jackson

Dairy farmers looking to expand into value-added food processing can benefit from a free webinar offered by Penn State Extension. "Cash Flow Planning a New Value-Added Dairy Foods Processing Business" takes place on February 13th, aiming to equip farmers with financial strategies for this venture.

Starting a new dairy processing venture can be both exciting and financially demanding. During the initial stages, cash flow often becomes tight as producers learn new skills and establish their market. This webinar addresses this challenge by emphasizing the importance of coordinating cash flow for both the dairy farm and the processing business.

Led by Rob Goodling, ag business consultant, and Penn State Extension experts, the webinar will delve into:

  • Understanding capital requirements for dairy processing: Recognizing the financial needs of the processing venture and how it might rely on support from the existing dairy operation.
  • Assessing cash flow demands: Analyzing the financial requirements of both the dairy and processing businesses.
  • Planning for the future: Mapping out short- and long-term spending needs for the entire farm operation.

For more information or to register, visit the Penn State Extension website or call 1-877-345-0691.

This free webinar requires pre-registration to receive access link and recording. Don't miss this valuable opportunity to learn and plan for a successful future in value-added dairy processing.
