Celebrating Pennsylvania's bounty and community, the 2024 PA Farm Show unveiled its stunning butter masterpiece! This 1,000-pound sculpture, carved from donated local butter, depicts a family enjoying a farm-to-table meal, set against a cityscape and farmland backdrop. It's a poignant nod to the show's theme "Connecting Our Communities" and a tribute to 20 years of PA Preferred, the state's symbol for locally grown and made products.
This year's edible artwork, the 33rd in the show's history, took artists Jim Victor and Marie Pelton 14 days to sculpt. The dairy industry, a vital part of Pennsylvania's economy, is also highlighted, with Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding emphasizing its contribution to jobs and food security.
But the story doesn't end there! After the show, the butter finds new life, recycled into a renewable energy source. This delicious sculpture is a true testament to Pennsylvania's agricultural heritage, community spirit, and commitment to sustainability.
