PA Farm Bureau Promotes Safer Driving This Spring Season

PA Farm Bureau Promotes Safer Driving This Spring Season

By Blake Jackson

The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau will host a news conference on April 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Merrymead Farms in Lansdale to highlight the importance of rural road safety during the busy spring planting season.

The event is part of Rural Roads Safety Week, an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging drivers to be more cautious on rural roadways and to help reduce accidents involving farm equipment.

Several key officials will speak at the event, including Pennsylvania Farm Bureau President Chris Hoffman, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Lisa Graybeal, PennDOT District 6 Executive Din Abazi, and Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Paul Holdefer.

Each will emphasize the shared responsibility of motorists and farmers in maintaining safety on rural roads.

Spring marks one of the most active times for farmers, as large equipment frequently travels between fields. This increased activity raises the risk of collisions with other vehicles.

Rural Roads Safety Week seeks to remind drivers to stay alert, slow down, and be patient when encountering farm machinery, helping ensure safer roads for everyone.
